HIGHLIGHTS

PROJECT SUPPORT

In April we helped on assisting larger projects with design assist on a large screenwall in SeaTac.

We are starting to see a shift from quick technical questions to more comprehensive drawing, detail, and schematic designs on projects.

EDUCATION RECAP

April was a busy month for education, featuring a handful of lunch and learn presentations in offices.

We also had a great turnout of students and architects at the California Masonry Council Summit and Expo at the end of the month. The resiliency of block and its role in climate responsive design resonated well with the audience!

Reminder: All producer sales teams are able to give the AIA-accredited presentations on the BLH and access the presentations with the speaker notes. I highly encourage to have your staff trained and the BDC can process AIA credits on the back end!

Please register a BLH account and email learn@beautyofblock.com to enroll in the Train-the-Trainer course!

MEETINGS/EVENTS

April was another busy month of meetings with AEC and strategic planning with industry partners.

In Denver, I had the opportunity to present to the board of The Masonry Society (TMS) and the Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute (RMMI). Both meetings had productive conversations to explore pathways for collaboration, which is important to grow the industry as a whole.

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

I am continuing to work with Buehler Engineers in California to develop a presentation for best masonry practices in high seismic regions and typical details.

I was able to chase down to potential great case studies to utilize for Region 5 and continue to work towards pulling the information together in the next couple of months.

May will be more focused on further content development.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

I will be speaking to the AIA Central Coast California chapter for a lunch and learn in June. We will look towards growing further presence with more local AIA chapters throughout the region.
