HIGHLIGHTS

PROJECT SUPPORT

I received a few project specific inquiries this month helping with a specification review and a partition wall design mockup for an elementary school. Please continue to loop me into projects where I can provide design assistance.

EDUCATION RECAP

I went on a little roadshow this month with the AIA NC Summer School Event. I presented the Embodied Carbon Series, Part 1 and 2 to architects across North Carolina in Asheville, Charlotte, and Raleigh. This event was coordinated through the Educating Design Professionals program with the AIA NC and we had a lot of great engagement for these presentations. In addition, Greg Capps and Jacob Warren with ACME Block and Brick Inc presented "General Design of Concrete Masonry Structures" and Brad Stowe with Chaney Enterprises presented the "5Ss of Concrete Masonry". Thank you to our great producer teams for getting trained and presenting the Beauty of Block content!

MEETINGS/EVENTS

I was able to slow down the travel a bit this month to catch up from the busy March/April season and the incoming busy June and summer season. I participated in several virtual events and coordinated a few lunch and learns for later in the year. The work we have been putting into Region 2 is really showing with the AECO community learning more about the Block Design Collective and how I can help on projects. The BDC Directors also participated in the Design Assistance Webinar where we shared Q1 updates and plans for the rest of 2026. We have a lot of exciting events coming up!

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

There are a lot of resources located on our website, beautyofblock.com that the BDC has been working on through the year! I will be working hard in 2026 to develop content that will promote and support our Region 2 goals.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

We are deep into Q2 of this year and it has been BUSY! Thank you for your continued support of connecting me with your local contacts and including me in events. I am continuing to be engaged across our region and looking forward to all the events we have coming up the rest of the year! If I can be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
