HIGHLIGHTS

PROJECT SUPPORT

I am receiving more project inquiries, thank you for sending them my way! If your teams are working on any projects where having a masonry review would be helpful, please continue to loop me in. At the end of June/early July, I received some great connections to help with a single wythe project, a senior living facility, and a masonry framed model home design. Let’s keep the projects coming!

EDUCATION RECAP

Eastwest Products in Kinston, NC hosted me this month for a wonderful 2-day event focusing on architect and contractor education event. I presented 2 topics (5Ss of Concrete Masonry and Why Masonry Why Now), we had a great panel discussion, and a tour for all attendees. If you are interested in hosting an event for your local designers, let’s coordinate! Brad Stowe with Chaney Enterprises also presented the 5Ss of Concrete Masonry (again!). Thank you to our great producer teams for getting trained and presenting the Beauty of Block content! Our Educating Design Professionals program has been busy finalizing our 2026 plans and we have a lot of AIA conferences coming up where we will be tabling and presenting.

MEETINGS/EVENTS

I started the month off in Atlanta for a few visits with architects and to attend the SkillsUSA event. It was great to collaborate with folks from the industry, exchange ideas, and support the industry. The Southeast Concrete Masonry Association hosted an amazing conference this month! I was able to present during the event on 3 topics: Leveraging the R2 Director, Block Learning Hub, and Block Design Collective Resources. I had a lot of great connections and enjoyed meeting everyone at the event.

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

We are finalizing the development of the Masonry Framed Homes Design Guide. This will be a really helpful tool to promote these designs for residential use. There are a lot of resources located on our website, beautyofblock.com that the BDC has been working on through the year! I will be working hard in 2026 to develop content that will promote and support our Region 2 goals.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

Wrapping up Q2 of this year and it has been BUSY! Thank you for your continued support of connecting me with your local contacts and including me in events. I am continuing to be engaged across our region and looking forward to all the events we have coming up the rest of the year! If I can be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
